Gebruik 500ml karringmelk. Plaas ‘n gaasdoek oor/binne ‘n sif (sif en bakke verkieslik plastiek), plaas dit dan binne in ‘n bak, giet karringmelk binne doek. Bedek en laat oornag in yskas staan. Al die water drup uit en wat oorbly is maaskaas! Geur soos verlang. Jy kan sout, peper, knoffel en someer daarin meng! Heerlik! Hierdie resep kom van baie oulike ekspat vroue in Afrika! ‘n Boer maak ‘n plan!

Homemade cottage cheese

1L milk
1/4 cup white vinegar
¼ cup cream
½ tsp salt

Pour milk into a large heavy pot and bring to the boil.

Remove from heat, pour in vinegar and stir. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.

Strain through muslin cloth to remove liquids.

Squeeze out all excess liquid then tie up the cloth.

Run cold water over the cloth for three minutes, kneading and squeezing the cheese curds the whole time.

Transfer the curds to a bowl and add the cream, along with 1/2 teaspoon salt.

Ek dink mens voeg by hierdie stap ook die byvoegsels by soos bv sweet chillie, gekapte spruituie ens om jou geur maaskaas te maak soos verlang.

Maaskaas resep.

Koop n bottel AMAZI, sit 4 nappy liners of kaasdoek  in n sif oor n bak gooi amazi in. Laat staan oornag – selfs tot 2 dae –  sodat vloeistof kan skei van mekaar. Gooi die water gedeelte weg en die maas wat bo op die liners le kan jy gebruik vir maaskaas. Geur soos jy lus het
